After the box office disappointment of Star Trek Beyond and with a new TV series on the way from Bryan Fuller to celebrate the series’ fiftieth anniversary, it’s possible that Boldly Go might be the only official look at the Kelvin Timeline’s crew fans see for a little while.
The first issue debuts on October 19, and in December, the series will see Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise face off against a foe that was originally introduced in Star Trek: The Next Generation and has only crossed paths with the Original Series crew in outside media like novels and comics — never during its original broadcast run, obviously, and not during any of the movies either.
The issue features a pair of covers: one from George Caltsoudas and a variant by Marc Laming. You can check both of them out in the attached image gallery.
Here’s the official solicitation text for Star Trek: Boldly Go #3, due in stores in December.
