Star Trek Comics Coming In October

IDW Publishing has unveiled their slate of Star Trek comics for the month of October 2017.

October will see the debut of the new Star Trek: Discovery comic book tying into the upcoming CBS All Access television series. The series is written by veteran Star Trek comic book writer Mike Johnson and Kirsten Beyer, a writer on Star Trek: Discovery. Specific details about the new series’ plot are being kept under wraps to avoid spoiling the new show’s premiere, but it is said to tie closely into the television series and likely show more of the Klingons.

Though not arriving in stores until November, IDW couldn’t wait to solicit Star Trek: Waypoint. The one-shot anthology celebrates 50 years of Star Trek by including stories with the casts of every Star Trek series to date, including Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise.

The crew of the Kelvin Timeline deal with a crisis that could shatter reality in Star Trek: Boldly Go #13, which kicks of the IDIC (Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations) event. The story will feature Captain Kirk and Spock from six different realities, showing how very different their lives could have ended up under very different circumstances.

The penultimate issue of Star Trek: The Next Generation: Mirror Broken finds the Mirror Universe crew of Star Trek: The Next Generation caught between the forces of the Terran Empire and the forces of the Cardassian-Klingon alliance. Can they escape with the Enterprise?

John Byrne returns for Star Trek: New Visions: What Pain It Is to Drown, in which the crew of Star Trek: The Original Series visits a strange world made up entirely of water that is on the verge of flooding.
