Another EA studio is now working on a new Star Wars game, EA announced today. Using Star Wars Day as their platform, Executive Vice President of EA Studios Patrick Söderlund made the announcement in a press release.
“Today, I’m thrilled to be able to announce that EA and the talented team at Respawn Entertainment have expanded our relationship to include the development of an all-new 3rd person action adventure game set in the Star Wars universe,” he wrote. “They join our other great studios – Visceral Games, DICE, Capital Games, BioWare, Motive and more – who are currently working on Star Wars projects.”

Respawn created Titanfall for EA, but are probably best known as the new studio that was founded by Jason West and Vince Zampella after they, and most of their team, left Infinity Ward, developers of Call of Duty.
“With a new team led by Stig Asmussen, we get to see what they can do when you combine that great attention to gameplay with the power of Star Wars,” he continued.
EA’s DICE put out Star Wars Battlefront in 2015. While it has a decent following, fans were vocal about wanting a solo campaign for the game instead of the multiplayer-only focus. Visceral and Motive’s game is the next farthest along, with an all-star development team including Amy Hennig, Todd Stashwick, Scott Warner, and Jade Raymond.
