The anticipation for Disney’s upcoming Star Wars Land attraction builds with each passing day, and the latest news revolves around the use of the Force.
Not content to just have a few Star Wars themed rides, the park is finding other ways to integrate the lore and history of Star Wars in every nook and cranny, including the backbone of any good Jedi or Sith, the Force.

According to Jason Ward’s sources (via MakingStarWars.net), the Disneyland attraction will have what are being called “Force Opportunities” scattered throughout the park for guests to interact with. Things like lifting a boulder or force-pulling a lightsaber are two of many ways this type of experience could be executed, but everyone won’t be successful. Like in the films, commanding the force is a special gift and not just something you can go learn how to do with a few hours of Youtube tutorials under your belt. The effect will happen at random times throughout the day, with certain ones hitting more often and some succeeding very rarely.
It can’t all be about the Jedi though, so expect there to be some Force Choke and Force Lightning opportunities strewn about as well.
Ideas like this are paramount to making Star Wars Land a true fan destination, and hopefully, it is just one aspect of many that the team is putting together. The park isn’t set to open its doors until 2019, and while work is underway, there is still plenty left to do, as these pictures of the in progress project show.
