Rogue One: A Star Wars Story packs an incredibly talented cast, but new details reveal that Felicity Jones took home the top prize in terms of compensation.

Hollywood has a habit of paying it’s male actors significantly more than it’s female talent, even if the female stars are bigger draws than their male counterparts. Jyn Erso actress Felicity Jones entered Rogue One right after her best actress nomination for The Theory of Everything and used that to her advantage in negotiations (via THR). A knowledgeable source said “She knows her worth”, and it lead to a seven-figure upfront salary Jones. In comparison, the rest of the cast didn’t top six figures.

The gender gap in Hollywood has been a prominent issue over the last few years, with more and more female stars being far more open about the issue than in years past. Hopefully, this isn’t an isolated incident, and Disney needs to make sure it doesn’t fall off the wagon going forward.

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers.
