Making it through the year is an achievement in and of itself. Whether it was one for the books or one we'd like to forget, marking another notch in the wall always takes its toll.

Mark Hamill knows this all too well, celebrating the new year with an awesome Star Wars meme featuring his legendary character, Luke Skywalker. Take a look below:

The "Me at the beginning of the year, Me at the end of the year" meme is always dependable, often producing hilarious results. But seeing Hamill himself paying homage to the aging of his character is another sweet notch.

Of course, Hamill himself has had a memorable year, capped off with the success of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and its box office dominance.

Hamill's year began a bit more quietly, starting with the indie darling Brigsby Bear with SNL star Kyle Mooney. That Lonely Island-produced film received critical praise, and Hamill's performance was a highlight for reviewers.

He also did voice work for shows and movies like Trollhunters, Avengers Assemble, Justice League Action, Bunyan and Babe, and Howard Lovecraft & the Undersea Kingdom.

Hamill has been one of the most prominent faces in the promotion of Star Wars, and it hasn't always been kind. After the film released, many fans took his comments about disagreeing with director and writer Rian Johnson to mean that he didn't like the film.

He recently debunked those claims, even going so far as to shed light on a "conspiracy" theory that Lucasfilm wrote him out of the film because they didn't like how he was promoting it.

Then there is also his political leanings and his vocal criticisms of United States President Donald Trump, which have also put him under fire.

Needless to say, Hamill has had A Year, and this meme accurately depicts his feelings.

You can see his latest portrayal as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, now playing in theaters everywhere.
