The Infiniteer Adventures youtube channel continues to push through boundaries and discover more unreleased Disney Infinity figures concepts, this time shifting away from Marvel and going to another property: Star Wars. Yes, the only missing member of the Ghost crew from Star Wars Rebels, the pilot Hera, was coming to the now-cancelled game as a future character release.

Hera is one of those “why wasn’t she there in the first place” characters, as literally every other main character from the show was included in the initial Star Wars offerings, while Hera was only in the game as a townsperson. There’s no word on how the release was planned, whether it was going to just be the single character figure or any additional story content focused on Rebels, but the design showcases Hera’s unique sensibility and confidence nicely.
This is just the latest of the figures uncovered by Infiniteer, including the Toy Box Artist-chosen Peter Pan, Disney’s Jafar and Goofy, and Marvel’s Hulk Deluxe, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Gwen. It’s the first of new Star Wars figures that they’ve revealed so far, though several more (and a new play set) were in the works, as well.
Disney Infinity was abruptly cancelled by Disney Interactive, when the parent company decided they’d be pulling out of direct development in the console market altogether, instead moving exclusively to a licensing and partnership model. The Star Wars franchise is with EA for at least the next 8 years (though the new LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens was an exception, developed by TT Games and distributed by WBIE), and Insomniac and Sony are currently working on a new Spider-Man game. Disney Interactive’s only in-house development for the forseeable future will be on mobile platforms. There are no plans at this time for any of the in-development figures or content for Disney Infinity to be released.
