But it’s also known for the exclusive swag people can obtain if they’re willing to fork over some cash.

Kotobukiya has revealed their exclusive offerings for the show, unveiling four different ARTFX+ Statues that will be available during the Celebration festivities as well as to the unlucky fans who won’t be able to attend.

And the statue company has a distinct theme behind their exclusive statues this year, one that allows them to mine the more obscure entries in Star Wars vast catalogue of characters.

Kotobukiya is treating Star Wars Celebration 2017 as a showcase for Droids.

There are some mechanical characters getting the statue treatment for the first time, including a pair of evil characters who only recently debuted in the Star Wars universe. In fact, they’ve mostly been relegated to the Kieron Gillan and Salvador Larroca run on Darth Vader and are only recently beginning to trickle out into other areas.

The other three droids all feature in Star Wars: A New Hope to varying degrees.

R4-M9

The first droid on the list is R4-M9, one of the first astromechs (other than R2-D2) to be featured in the entire series.

R4-M9 was present when Darth Vader and the Galactic Empire invaded Tantive IV, the Rebel Blockade Runner, in search of Princess Leia and the Death Star Plans.

A green and white Astromech Droid under the service of the Galactic Empire, R4-M9 played an instrumental role in retrieving data from the Tantive IV’s computer banks in conjunction to the whereabouts of the stolen Death Star plans.

R4-M9 stands 4 12 inches tall in 1/10th ARTFX+ scale. Magnets in its feet provide the perfect stability on the included metal display bases. As with other Celebration exclusives this release also includes a special commemorative collector’s coin.

It is available for pre-sale for $44.99.

R5-D4

One of the next Kotobukiya ARTFX+ offerings finally gets the attention it deserves after a short-circuiting motivator forever changed its fate.

R5-D4 nearly changed the fate of R2-D2 and C-3PO forever after Uncle Owen decided to purchase the astromech, but alas, it was never meant to be.โ€จ

As fate (or sabotage) would have it R5-D4 was brought to a screeching stop just moments from reaching the Lars homestead. Due to a “bad” motivator this red and white Astromech Droid was retrieved by his Jawa handlers thus setting off a chain of events that would forever change the life of young moisture farmer Luke Skywalker.

R5-D4 stands 4 ยฝ inches tall in 1/10th ARTFX+ scale. Magnets in its feet provide the perfect stability on the included metal display bases. As with other Celebration exclusives this release also includes a special commemorative collector’s coin.

It is available for pre-sale for $44.99.

RX-X2

RX-X2 unfortunately got the worst fate of all of these offerings in the Star Wars Universe.

Though it did participate in one of the most epic space battles and greatest victories in the Rebel Alliance’s struggle against the Galactic Empire, it never got the chance to celebrate the success alongside its human counterpart after the battle against the ultimate planet killer.

Under the service of Rebel pilot Theron Nett, R2-X2 was one of the many causalities during the Battle of Yavin when the X-wing it was assigned to was shot down in the trenches of the first Death Star.

R2-X2 stands 4 ยฝ inches tall in 1/10th ARTFX+ scale. Magnets in its feet provide the perfect stability on the included metal display bases. As with other Celebration exclusives this release also includes a special commemorative collector’s coin.

It is available for pre-sale for $44.99.

Triple Zero (0-0-0) and BT-1

These two are commonly referred to as the “evil R2-D2 and C-3PO,” but they’re so much more than that! They’re also wonderful torturers.

Created by Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca in the pages of Marvel’s Darth Vader #3, the two caused a bit of a boom in their debut issue, causing the price of said issue to increase in online markets.

This offering is the sole two-pack a part of Kotobukiya’s Star Wars Celebration 2017 exclusives.

Activated by Doctor Aphra and under the service of Darth Vader the assassin Droids known as 0-0-0 (Triple Zero) & BT-1 appear for the first time in the ARTFX+ series! Programed in the art of “etiquette and torture” this dastardly duo wreaks havoc (and incinerations) across the galaxy!

Triple Zero stands just over 6 ยฝ inches tall while BT-1 stands 4 ยฝ inches tall in 1/10th ARTFX+ scale. Magnets in their feet provide the perfect stability on the included metal display bases. As with other Celebration exclusives this release also includes a special commemorative collector’s coin. And as an extra special bonus to this set only, a 10″ x 8″ print is included in the box with exclusive artwork by acclaimed artist Adi Granov!

They are available for pre-sale for $79.99.
