Rogue One: A Star Wars Story continues to dominate the box office, and one of the key characters from the film is making his way back to television.
Saw Gerrera, a key character from Rogue One (Played by Forest Whitaker) who actually debuted in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, is set to appear in Star Wars Rebels on Disney XD. Star Wars Rebels is set prior to the events of Rogue One, so Saw’s Rebels arc should reveal more about how he became the feared militant seen in Rogue One.

Disney XD has released a new trailer for Saw Gerrera’s arrival on Star Wars Rebels. The trailer mixes footage from Rogue One with new footage of Saw in Star Wars Rebels. There are hints of things to come as a crude Death Star is drawn into the dirt, and Ezra’s disgust at Saw’s extremist tactics hints at the split between Saw and the Rebel Alliance that was noted in Rogue One.
Saw will make his Star Wars Rebels debut in the special, two-part Star Wars Rebels midseason premiere, airing Jan. 7 on Disney XD.
