If you’re a Star Wars fan and you have a pulse, you were probably in total awe of the final scene in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story just like everyone else.

Seeing the events of the Rebels stealing the Death Star plans and passing them off to Princess Leia’s companions, feeding directly into the events of A New Hope, was a chilling featโ€”especially when Darth Vader was on screen.

Vader cut his way through Rebel fighters as he raided their ship in an attempt to regain the plans, falling just short as many sacrificed themselves to buy just a few moments to pass off the data.

It’s the most impressing scene in an already great film, building toward the inevitable confrontation and making it so the Rogue One crew’s mission is not in vain. It also is the most bad ass Darth Vader has ever been portrayed in a film.

A group of cosplaying fans attending Star Wars Celebration in Orlando did the inevitable and beat a high-valued fan production to recreating it, performing all their own stunts on the fly and making due with the items and surroundings at hand.

The video comes courtesy of the Star Wars UK Twitter account, on hand to document the chaos.

It’s a hilarious retelling of the best scene from the movie, with Darth Vader swiping cosplaying Rebels aside with a prop lightsaber, and the type of fun you want to see everyone having whenever you go to a pop culture gathering like this.

Maybe next time we can get a full reenactment of the Battle of Endor with children dressed in Ewok costumes throwing rocks at Stormtrooper cosplayers.

A band of resistance fighters unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans in ‘Star Wars’ anthology film, Rogue One

Directed by Gareth Edwards, it’s the first of the new standalone features from Lucasfilm and Disney, which take place outside the core “Skywalker Saga” of films noted by an Episode number. Rogue One tells the story of the small band of rebels that were tasked with stealing the plans to the first Death Star.
