Despite the high demand to get as many details as possible about every upcoming Star Wars film, the filmmakers behind Rogue One: A Star Wars Story still managed to keep lots of surprises from audiences. One example is that both Grand Moff Tarkin and Princess Leia were both incorporated into the film thanks to CGI, something audiences were completely unaware of up until opening weekend. The filmmakers were so secretive, in fact, that even members of the cast were treated to a variety of surprised at the finished film, with many being completely shocked by Vader's final sequence in the film.

With the film coming to Blu-ray this Tuesday, Ahmed was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight about his role in Rogue One and experience of seeing the film for the first time. When the topic turned to the ending, Ahmed revealed how secretive director Gareth Edwards was about the final scenes.

"They kept that from us!" Ahmed explained. "That was never in the script. We didn't know about it! It was the first time we saw it, so it was like, 'Oh okay, the film's finished... Darth Vader? Epilogue? Uh...What is going on here?" and we just all started shouting, and cheering and clapping in a screening room -- Yeah, that was a sneaky one, that was sneaky."

The jaw-dropping sequence gave fans a glimpse at Darth Vader like we'd never seen before, slicing and dicing his way through Rebel troops with his lightsaber like butter. We have seen the range of his savagery before, but had never seen him at his most ruthless, giving fans new reasons to fear the Sith Lord.

Ahmed also explained how flexible Edwards was with this character, allowing Bodhi to change and evolve into what we saw on screen.

"We just kept throwing up ideas and just took opportunities to change it -- and then, when we came back for the re-shoots, it was like, 'we're going to meet your character right at the start now, as opposed to meeting him at the halfway point," Ahmed described. "That takes a lot of guts as filmmakers, when you've got something 90 percent finished to go, 'oh no no no wait. Let's just unpick all this stuff because, actually, it could be even cooler.' And usually, you don't have the budget to that -- but they did it."
