It wasn’t easy for Fear the Walking Dead‘s Mercedes Mason to get from the show’s Mexico set to the Los Angeles studio of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The actress had to rush straight from the AMC set and across the border to make her appearance on the late night talk show which is apparently even harder than one might think.
“We had to film just one last scene and we had to shoot it in Mexico and we knew that crossing the border can take sometimes five or six hours so they told me to get a helicopter, which I’ve never done,” Mason tells Kimmel. “You could’ve rung my t-shirt out.”
Already terrified, the trip only got worse. “I’m excited and nervous and as we get up, the pilot tells us we might not be able to get anywhere near Jimmy Kimmel or Burbank because the winds are so high that it might toss the helicopter,” Mason went on, finally revealing, she “passed out for at least a minute.”
“I just went limp,” the actress says, now laughing at the account in hindsight. She literally passed out from fear. You would think someone who battles zombies on a daily basis might be able to tackle a helicopter ride!
Fear the Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 PM ET on AMC.
