Fear the Walking Dead pulled a page straight from one of The Walking Dead‘s best chapters on Sunday night.

In the “La Serpiente” episode of Fear the Walking Dead, Victor Strand leads Madison Clark and Qaletaca to a dam in hopes of finding a water supply for Broke Jaw Ranch. Along the way, however, the group encounters a herd of zombies which forces them to take an underground route through a sewage system. The alternate path was every bit as nasty as one might expect, especially when the group encountered a walker which looked familiar to Walking Dead fans.

Trapped in the sewer was a bloated walker. It had been stuck in the sewage system for an unknown amount of time and its body had become logged with water. It’s a very similar scene to one from The Walking Dead‘s second season which saw Glenn Rhee being hoisted into a well on Hershel’s farm in an effort to remove a bloated walker which had been stuck at the bottom.

Of course, Glenn got the job done, just as Madison, Strand, and Qaletaca did. Similarly, the walker wouldn’t be removed in one piece. As seen in the video above, Madison and company had to hack up the walker which was blocking their path, unlike Glenn who attempted to remove his in one piece but would see it break in half upon removal.

The Walking Dead‘s sibling series Fear the Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on AMC. The Walking Dead will return for its eighth season on October 22, 2017. The Season Eight premiere will mark 100 episodes overall for the popular AMC series. For complete coverage and insider info all season long, follow @BrandonDavisBD on Twitter.
