Smokey And The Bandit Easter Egg In The Walking Dead

Spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 10 follow.

Sunday night’s episode of The Walking Dead came with an Easter Egg reference to Smokey and The Bandit.

As Daryl and Richard hid from the Saviors, ultimately coming to blows over their opposing views of Carol’s importance, they were ducking behind a truck. The truck seen in the moment featured in the New Best Friends episode of the AMC series was a truck seen in the popular film Smokey and The Bandit.

The Walking Dead often pays homage to horror films. An action adventure film is new, though. Now, if we can just get a Burt Reynolds zombie, the homage will really be complete.
