Reaching 100 episodes is a commendable milestone for any series on television. The Walking Dead will join the 100 club with its Season 8 premiere and to prepare, AMC has released a recap video showcasing the journey so far.

Released on Twitter and other social media platforms, the almost four-minute video begins with Rick’s journey in Atlanta, Georgia, where he met Morgan and Duane Jones in the show’s first episode. Memory lane is immediately activated for the show’s longtime fans as Rick is seen stumbling through the abandoned hospital, wondering what is going on, armed only with his gown.

The video is not unlike others which have been released to promote the show’s 100th episode. Already, AMC has released the first scene from the series to spark fan excitement for how far the show has come, in addition to a “Thank You” video from the cast and crew.
“The way we plan ahead is to live in abject terror and anxiety. It isn’t about necessarily planning the 100th episode, it is sort of about planning the next 100 episodes,” Gimple said. “In a lot of ways, we’ve planned out this show into many seasons from now. The comic book affords us that and then the inspiration we get from the comic and things we want to see more of.”
“What I’m hoping for the season premiere to be next year is the kick off of the next 100 episodes. The promise of more story and another future. Every eight episodes we try to reinvent ourselves and we’re gonna try and do it again.”
When The Walking Dead returns, it will do so with an All Out War storyline being realized between Rick and Negan’s groups.
The Walking Dead‘s sibling series Fear the Walking Dead returns September 10. The Walking Dead will return for its eighth season on October 22, 2017. The Season 8 premiere will mark 100 episodes overall for the popular AMC series. For complete coverage and insider info all season long, follow @BrandonDavisBD on Twitter.
