All summer long, every fan has been caught up thinking about who Negan killed in The Walking Dead finale. Every website is filled with theories, hints, and potential spoilers about the victim, and it seems like that’s the main topic of conversation at the water cooler.

What no one has taken the time to consider, however, is that many more characters will probably die throughout the rest of the season.
Yes, we are going to lose a beloved character in the season premiere, but it’s almost a guarantee that more will follow over the course of the year.
So, that begs the question, who’s it going to be?
Any number of characters could take the plunge in season seven, but we took the time to outline the five characters who are most likely to miss out on season eight.

Glenn
We just have to come to terms with this at some point, Glenn is going to die. As much as that sucks to hear, it’s bound to happen.
It may be at the hands of Negan, or it may come down the road, but it’s extremely unlikely we get to season eight and still have Glenn hanging around.
Aside from his character’s death in the comics being a factor, there is a huge reason to see Glenn off this season.
Maggie’s story can’t go on if he is still alive.
After dealing with the loss of Glenn, Maggie has to learn to live on her own. These revelations teach her how to be an excellent mother, a master strategist, and a qaulified leader. During the war with Negan, Maggie actually takes control of Hilltop.
Maggie becomes an even more important character than she already is, but that transformation can’t happen if Glenn is alive. She needs to gain independence before she gains power, and losing her love is step one.
Heath
Heath hasn’t had a very big role on the show so far, and that’s a shame. His character had some great moments in the comics that missed the cut on TV, mostly due to the character change for Denise.
In the comics, Heath and Denise fell in love. They were one of the longest-standing couples in Alexandria, and they weren’t split until Denise was killed during the war with Negan.
With the TV version of Denise leaving Heath void of a love interest, he hasn’t had much to do.
Last we saw him, Heath was running away from something with Tara. We have seen her in clips from the new season, but she was completely alone.
With all of the new characters coming in, and Heath not being utilized much anyway, it would make sense to see him go.
Abraham
Abraham is another popular answer to ‘Who Did Negan Kill’ and for good reason.
In the comics, Abraham has already been dead for some time. When he was walking around with Eugene, scouting an old factory, an arrow went straight through his eye.
If this sounds familiar, it’s because this is the same fate that befell Denise on the show.
Abraham was kept alive past his original death date, but that was probably in order to finish out his story arc.
Now that he has come full circle with his love life, and made amends with Eugene, there’s not much more to explore with his character.
The signs all point to Abraham biting the dust this season.
Sasha
This one isn’t fun to think about, but it’s the most likely scenario for Sasha. While she has adopted Andrea’s role as the town sharpshooter, she doesn’t have the relationship with Rick that was so crucial to Andrea’s story.
Instead, Sasha took over Holly’s roll as Abraham’s love interest.
In the comics, Holly suffers through the loss of her man. Eventually, she wants payback for hit death, and sacrifices herself to get at Negan.
This is the most likely ending for Sasha. She has been a great character for the show, but her stories have dealt heavily with the themese of selfishness, regret, and a willingness to do for others.
A self-sacrificial end would make for a heart-wrenching death for Sasha. Look for this on the mid-season finale.
Spencer
Spencer hasn’t been too bad so far, but he’s gonna have it coming. By the time he is gone, you’ll be glad to see him out.
Once Rick returns, beaten by Negan, Spencer will challenge his ability to lead. Man people will come to agree with Spencer, and this will lead to a large group who don’t trust Rick anymore.
When Negan shows up in Alexandria, and Rick isn’t around, Spencer tries to strike a deal with the villain. By offering Rick’s head on a silver platter, Spencer asks Negan for grace.
Just when you think Negan will be happy to make this deal, he kills Spencer on the spot. If there’s one thing Negan can’t stand, it’s a coward.
