Tony Moore Draws ‘The Walking Dead’s Iconic Negan/Glenn Moment

Tony Moore, original artist on Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic book, has posted his take on an unforgettable comic book moment.

The now-iconic comic, published in July 2012, is notable for its first appearance of Negan and the death of Glenn Rhee, at the time one of the series’ major characters and longest-lasting survivors. The issue was scripted by Kirkman and drawn by Charlie Adlard, who has been with the comic book since issue 7.

This isn’t the first time Moore tried his hand at Glenn’s bloody and tragic fate: last month, the artist posted an eye-popping blank cover variant graphically depicting Glenn’s final moments after taking a blow to the head. Following his departure from The Walking Dead, Moore co-created the original series Fear Agent, The Exterminators and XXXombies. Moore has also done work for Marvel, providing the art for issues of Ghost Rider, The Punisher, Venom and Deadpool.

Glenn’s live-action counterpart, portrayed in AMC’s The Walking Dead by actor Steven Yeun, met his end in season 7 premiere “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be.” The show will premiere its 100th episode when the hit series returns to AMC for its eighth season on Sunday, October 22.
