After Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) was stabbed to death in the fifth season finale of Game of Thrones, fans debated whether or not he would be resurrected. Though most suspected he would be brought back to life, which he was, Harington spent the past year hiding that fact from nearly everyone.

During an appearance on Friday’s episode of The Tonight Show, Harington shared a humorous story in which he revealed Jon Snow’s fate to get out of a speeding ticket.
“I was driving back from my parent’s house, and I was driving too fast actually โ I was being a bit naughty,” Harington told Jimmy Fallon. “I was going over the speed limit, and I feel the sirens go off behind me. And he said, ‘Look, there’s two ways we can do this: You can either follow me back to the police station now and I book you in, or you can tell me whether you live in the next season.’”
“I looked at him and went, ‘I’m alive next season.’ And he says, ‘On your way, Lord Commander.’”
Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 PM ET on HBO.
