Why Abraham Is Most Likely for 'Fear the Walking Dead' Crossover Event
Abraham's Story
Abraham Ford revealed on The Walking Dead that he had spent the early days of the apocalypse surviving in a grocery store in Houston, Texas. There, he did everything he could to protect his wife Ellen, son AJ, and daughter Becca.
However, his efforts weren't enough.
When Abraham embraced the apocalypse and became a killer to protect those around him, his family was scared and abandoned him. This would ultimately result in their death, and Abraham would discover their devoured bodies.
Brief instances of Abraham's early apocalyptic days were revealed in flashback form on The Walking Dead, but his full story is largely untold prior to his meeting Eugene Porter and heading to Washington DC.
With Fear the Walking Dead taking place on the Mexican and American border, the characters had found asylum at Broke Jaw Ranch for a while. Now, however, the Ranch has literally been burnt to the ground, and the characters are left seeking a new sanctuary. Assuming the death of Ofelia causes Daniel to ban Madison's group from the dam, the characters may very well head northeast, putting them on a crash course with Abraham Ford's early apocalyptic days.
It's the ultimate The Walking Dead flashback story, and it doesn't require becoming a permanent fixture in either series.

Abraham actor Michael Cudlitz has previously expressed interest in returning to The Walking Dead should the opportunity present itself.
"I would strongly consider whatever the show came at me with at any point," Cudlitz told CinemaBlend. "I had a great experience with the show. As long as they keep telling stories the way they're telling them, which I feel is amazing, I'd be open to anything as long as it worked with my schedule, obviously. I'm on the other side of [the show's current story]."
Since exiting The Walking Dead, Cudlitz has kept a low profile. The actor has been attending comic conventions and Walker Stalker Cons around the country, remaining heavily engaged with the fanbase. He is also working on a pair of film projects, Driven and The Trustee. In The Trustee, Cudlitz will co-star with Meaghan Rath as a pair of police officers. ABC ordered a pilot of the series early in 2017, but little news regarding the series has surfaced since.
In other words, Cudlitz may be available to appear in a few episodes of Fear the Walking Dead, which would guarantee a significant spike in ratings for the series, which has immensely improved itself quality through its most recent season.
Plus, for the conspiracy theorists who want to dig deeper, there's this cryptic tweet from Cudlitz the morning after the crossover was announced.

"Are we going to see an interesting backstory of the Walking Dead character showing up in Fear the Walking Dead?" Kirkman teased. "Or are we going to see a Fear the Walking Dead character show up in The Walking Dead, and see a future version of a character? What could happen? Is it going to be something completely different than that?"
If the backstory format pans out, the wildly popular and supremely missed Abraham Ford is the best candidate.
