The Walking Dead has a ton of great villains throughout its comic pages and TV seasons, and a couple have gone on to become some of the most iconic in history.

Guys like Negan and The Governor are recognized outside of only comic book circles, and their impact helps to make The Walking Dead even more respected as a story.

If you ask Lauren Cohan about her favorite villain however, she won’t choose one from her own story.

A Reddit user posted a picture of a Spanish GQ magazine article, where Cohan was being asked about her ties to comics. When asked about her favorite hero, the actress gave a surprising answer.

“I’ve not a superhero, it’s a villain …. the Joker,” said Cohan. She went on to explain that she would love to take on that kind of role.

“I would love to play a villain. Honestly, I can’t think of a thing more fun to do.”

While Lauren Cohan doesn’t resemble the typical Joker that you may think of, she’s possibly the only actress who’s in a position to play the role.

In Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, Cohan made a brief appearance as Martha Wayne, the slain mother of Batman. Interestingly enough, Negan actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan played her husband Thomas.

In Flashpoint, one of DC Comics’ most popular stories, The Flash travels to an alternate version of his universe. In this reality, Bruce Wayne’s parents were never killed – he was. After the young boy was slain, his father Thomas went on to become the Batman.

His mother however, went insane after losing her son. Martha ended up becoming the Joker of that universe, terrorizing her former-husband.

If the DC Extended Universe were to ever include a Flashpoint storyline, Cohan could step in as that version of the Joker.

For Walking Dead fans, it’s odd to think of Cohan as a villain. Maggie is one of the only truly good people left in the world, and it’s hard to see her as anything but.
