It’s been awhile since Doctor Who fans have heard anything about the Time Lord’s daughter Jenny. The girl was introduced in “The Doctor’s Daughter” after David Tennant’s take on the hero landed himself with a clone. The episode ended with Jenny going off to do her own thing, but Doctor Who has not forgotten the girl. In fact, it looks like Jenny is getting ready to make a long-awaited comeback.

According to a new report by Radio Times, the Doctor’s daughter will be getting her own audio drama. Georgia Moffett is set to reprise her role as Jenny, and Big Finish will produce the special series. The production house is known for its roster of Doctor Who audio dramas about UNIT and more. So, now, Jenny will be the next piece of Doctor Who‘s lore to find life after its television prime.

If you are not familiar with Jenny, then you have an interesting history to catch up on. The character made her debut in Doctor Who‘s fourth season with Tennant. She was born from the Doctor’s DNA as her creators hoped she would become a warrior. However, Jenny was able to overcome her aggressive conditioning and overhauled herself to become more like the Doctor. By the end of “The Doctor’s Daughter,” Jenny was apparently killed as the Doctor grieved the loss. However, Jenny was anything but dead as she revived and stole away on a spaceship of her own.

Oh, yeah – and Tennant wound up marrying Moffett after their gig together. Talk about one confusing family tree!

Steven Moffat will hand over the reins of Doctor Who to Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall for Season 11. Chibnall is a longtime Doctor Who fans who has written for the series during the Russell T. Davies time and acted as head writer on the Doctor Who spin-off series Torchwood.

Doctor Who Season 10 introduced Pearl Mackie as the Doctor’s new companion Bill Potts. The newcomer replaced the previous companion Clara Oswald once Jenna Coleman left after Season 9. Whether Bill will join the new Doctor in Doctor Who Season 11 is still unknown, but fans don’t seem to think the companion will carry on with the Time Lord for much longer.
