One of the standout jokes from the Rick and Morty Season 3 premiere revolved around Szechuan sauce, a McNugget dipping sauce specially created by McDonald’s to promote the 1998 release of the Walt Disney Animation movie Mulan.

Szechuan sauce was only available for a brief period of time, but Rick apparently fell in love with it, so much so that even when he as trapped in his own mind and was being forced to relive his dark past he made sure to stop at a McDonald’s drive-thru because the only place where he can taste Szechuan sauce again is in his own memory.

At the end of the episode, Rick even tells Morty that the entire motivation for his insane adventures is the Szechuan sauce. “I’m not driven by avenging my dead family,” Rick says. “That was fake. I’m driven by finding that McNugget sauce. I want that Mulan McNugget Sauce. That’s my series arc, Morty. If it takes nine seasons, I want that McNugget Szechuan sauce.”

It turns out Rick and his fans may not have to wait that long. The Rick and Morty Twitter account tweeted out an old commercial for the Szchezuan sauce and even tagged McDonald’s to ask if it wanted to get in on the idea. McDonald’s replied, curiously, “McNugga Lubba Dub Dub.” Corporate chef Mike Haracz even said he’d see what he can do about taking the recipe off the shelf.

This all following the launch of a Change.org petition for the return of the sauce which suggests that the fast food chain should revisit the promotion for Disney’s upcoming live-action Mulan movie, which arrives in theaters on Nov. 2, 2018.

Rick and Morty was created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Cartoon’s Network’s Adult Swim block. The series follows the science fiction misadventures of Rick Sanchez, a mad scientist of the highest degree, and his hapless grandson Morty. Nominally a “sitcom,” the series splits its time between Rick and Morty‘s family – Jerry, Beth, and Summer – and interdimensional adventures.
