Westworld did a great job of balancing an intriguing narrative with mysterious developments, keeping viewers on their toes all the way to the closing shot of the season finale.

And though that last episode provided a lot of answers—even a bit of closure—to a lot of the questions that pervaded throughout its first season, it also created many developments that are begging to be explored when the show returns next year.
Speaking at Paleyfest, cast and crew alike came together for a panel looking back at the first year of the show while also hinting at where the show could go in the future. Creators Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan were joined by producer Robert Patino and actors Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, James Marsden, Jimmi Simpson and Ed Harris for the discussion.
Among all of the teases in the finale’s closing moments, though, few got people as excited as the glimpse into a different theme park called Samurai World.

While the crew didn’t want to reveal too much about the possibility or implications of visiting another park on the show, Harris—who plays the Man In Black—downplayed the possibility of staining his fine leather boots in a different theme park.
“It’s ‘Man in Black,’ not ‘Man in a Samurai suit,’” Harris said. “Samurais don’t wear hats.”
Hopefully the writers create a scenario around getting him in one of those outfits just because he decided to crack wise. That will teach him!
Westworld‘s second season is rumored to premiere sometime in 2018.
