In less than a week, Raw Superstar Sami Zayn faces off against the Intercontinental Champion at Survivor Series, but as it was originally planned for Zayn to see current IC Champion Dolph Ziggler, his rival The Miz got a rematch for the prestigious title.

In the opening match to the 900th episode of Smackdown, Miz and Ziggler squared off and it looked to have an early end with Ziggler nailing the Fameasser, but Miz kicked out. Miz then caught Ziggler with the Skull Crushing Finale, and Ziggler kicked out to that. Even Ziggler’s ZigZag maneuver couldn’t keep Miz down, but it was interference from the Spirit Squad that got Ziggler off guard and wrapped him in the Figure Four, but managed to get the ropes.
The end came when Ziggler got Miz into a small package, but with assistance with his wife Maryse, she pushed Miz over Ziggler which enabled her husband to become a six-time Intercontinental Champion.
The Miz will now face Sami Zayn at Survivor Series this Sunday.
