The episode begins with Sheldon and Amy discussing over a glitchy Skype connection. Apparently, Sheldon's computer is on the fritz and Amy encourages him to just get a new computer, since his current one is out of date. When Sheldon's computer repeatedly fails on him, Amy decides to call him to yell at him about getting a new computer.

Back at the lab, Leonard and Howard are working together on a project when Penny and Bernadette arrive with lunch. Penny offers to help, but is unprepared when Leonard actually takes her up on the offer.

Meanwhile, Sheldon's computer finally dies just as Amy arrives. After Sheldon and Amy pay respect to the computer with a moment of silence as "Taps" plays on Sheldon's phone, Amy tries to surprise him by pulling out a new computer. However, Sheldon is unhappy with Amy, saying that she robbed him of the incredibly personal experience of picking out a new computer for himself. But when Sheldon starts interrogating her about the computer, he discovers that the computer meets all his spec requirements.

Leonard shows Penny how to wrap pipe fittings when Howard discovers they've run out of sodder. They guys head to the store, while Penny and Bernadette stay behind to work on the project.

Sheldon turns on his new computer and is instantly enamored with the faster, brighter computer. However, he's not willing to recycle his old computer, but refuses to tell his girlfriend why. Instead, Sheldon says that they need to drive somewhere with the old computer and tells Amy that she needs to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Since Amy signed a NDA before they slept together, she's not put off at all about Sheldon's demands.

On their way to the store, Leonard and Howard are stopped by a marketing rep asking if they want to see a free movie. Leonard refuses, but Howard asks which movie and realizes they're probably doing an advanced screening of Suicide Squad. Howard convinces Leonard that Bernadette and Penny are fine at the lab and to go see the movie with him.

Sure enough, Penny and Bernadette are plugging away at the pipe fittings, when Raj stops in to say hi. He came into the lab because he was all alone for the weekend and asks if the girls need any help. When they politely decline, Raj lingers outside the door, hoping they'll change his mind.

Amy asks where they're going, but Sheldon says that information is on a "need to know" basis.

Leonard asks how they're going to explain going to see a movie to their wives, so Howard says they should just lie and say they got a flat. Penny and Bernadette buy their story, but Howard takes things a bit too far when he texts Raj the truth to rub the fact that he's seeing Suicide Squad before them, not realizing that Raj is with Penny and Bernadette. When Raj spills the beans, Penny and Bernadette decide to let their husbands think they get away with lying, just to see how far they'll take the lie.

Sheldon takes Amy to a storage unit, which contains Sheldon's "Fortress of Shame". Instead of getting rid of his ruined possessions, Sheldon instead hoards them all at the storage unit instead. He's kept literally everything from old ziploc bags to pine cones to a golf ball his brother threw at him. Amy asks why he's compelled to keep everything and Sheldon says (in a roundabout way) that he gets anxiety attacks whenever he thinks about throwing anything else. While he's ashamed of the storage unit, Amy comforts him about it. Amy says that if he ever decides to do something about the unit, she'll be there for him, which prompts Sheldon to toss the golf ball away. However, as Sheldon closes up the unit, he secretly rolls the golf ball back inside without Amy's knowledge.

Although Raj suggests that Penny and Bernadette make out with him to get back at the guys for lying, Bernadette decides that Raj should hide in the closet to surprise them and embarrass them after they tell whatever fib they tell. However, when Leonard and Howard arrive at the lab, they tell the truth about where they've been and give their wives flowers to apologize. Raj jumps out of the closet to "bust" them, but quickly jumps back inside when Howard threatens to spoil Suicide Squad for them.

The episode ends with Amy and Sheldon discussing the storage unit over tea. Sheldon mentions that they still have a couple of hours before bedtime and gives her a suggestive eye-waggle. Sheldon's suggestion: Amy heads back to her apartment so they can Skype using his new computer.
