Like with Killgrave (portrayed by David Tennant) in Marvel's Jessica Jones, the power that Jesse Custer possesses requires him to choose his words extremely carefully or people can get hurt. However, Jesse hasn't learned that lesson yet. As you saw in Sunday's "Sundowner" episode, during Jesse's argument with Eugene, the preacher let his emotions get the best of him, causing him to send the disfigured teenager to Hell by mistake. Oops!

In next week's "He Gone" episode: "Tensions rise as Sheriff Root questions Jesse about Eugene's disappearance." Check out a clip and a trailer for the episode in the videos above.

Based on the popular cult comic book franchise of the same name, "Preacher" is a supernatural, twisted and darkly comedic drama that follows a West Texas preacher named Jesse Custer, who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that causes him to develop a highly unusual power.
