It’s official, Fairy Tail fans! There is a bit more of Hiro Mashima’s anime left to come. Today, the creator confirmed on Twitter that the “final season” of Fairy Tail will have its premiere next year.
Otakus should go ahead and mark their calendars for 2018 and leave the year wide-open. After all, there is no telling when the eighth season of Fairy Tail could drop. Mashima tweeted in both Japanese and English to inform fans of the anime's long-awaited return
The last time Fairy Tail debuted new episodes was back in 2016 with Fairy Tail Zero. The anime acted as a prequel to Mashima’s original story as it followed the mages who founded the Fairy Tail guild.
The anime announcement comes off the heels of Fairy Tail’s recent manga wind-down. Mashima admitted not too long ago that he completed work on his manga’s final chapter. The special issue is set to debut this month and wrap up Fairy Tail after more than ten years.
