'Dragon Ball Super' Fans Think They Figured Out How the Series Will End

As the reality of Dragon Ball Super's imminent ending settles in, fans are freaking out less, and starting to wonder more about the opportunities this "hiatus" will bring. The knowledge that Dragon Ball Super will be ending has also exponentially increased fan speculation about the ending to the Tournament of Power, and some fans over at Reddit have a full breakdown of how Dragon Ball Super's final episodes will play out:

• 125: GoD Toppo roflstomps everyone and eliminates frieza. Goku loses his shirt.
• 126: Veggie takes out GoD Toppo but mortally wounds/eliminates himself in the process thus triggering Gokus UI.
• 127: Jiren knows that a completed UI goku could present a problem and goes to eliminate him mid transformation. 17 steps in to protect goku while he goes completed UI. He succeeds but is eliminated in the process, leaving shirtless/completed UI Goku to fight fully clothed Jiren.
• 128 - 129: FINAL BATTLEEEEEEEE11!!!!11!!
• 130: goku wins and there's some GP/Zeno stuff
• 131: SUMMON SUPER SAYIAN SHENRON
• 132-133: Series wrap up and eternal sadness until DB comes back

There's a certain amount of logic to this breakdown, given where things currently stand in the Tournament of Power's final minutes. Any fan of Dragon Ball Z or Dragon Ball Super would also probably recognize that this episode breakdown follows a lot of the traditional storytelling staples of the series - including the noble sacrifice (Vegeta) that inspires Goku's big transformation (full Ultra Instinct); Goku's new power leading him to narrow victory over a formidable opponent (Jiren); that all-important wish from Shenron; and first traces of a new storyline to come (Grand Priest and Zeno).

To the latter point: it seems that this same fan is a believer in the theory that Dragon Ball Super will be following the "Universal Survival" saga with some kind of Divine War storyline, that would see the hierarchy of gods, angels, and other deities thrown into a major shaken up, and Jiren is secretly scouting and training fighters from the multiverse for that upcoming challenge.

Dragon Ball Super's "Universal Survival" arc is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. DragonBall Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturday evenings at 7:15 p.m. CST. Adult Swim airs the English dub during its Toonami block Saturday evenings at 9:30 p.m, and is now available to stream on FunimationNOW and Amazon Video.
