The CW has released a new official poster for the second season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, which debuts next month on the network.
The image centers on The Atom (Brandon Routh), Firestorm (Franz Drameh), and White Canary (Caity Lotz), although the rest of the team is represented as well -- including newcomers Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Citizen Steel (Nick Zano). This seems to cement the notion that those two are the Justice Society characters most closely attached to the crew of the Waverider in the forthcoming season.
"Comic and what we're doing are a little different," Zano said of his character ComicBook.com during an interview at Comic Con International: San Diego. "I remember when I got all the comics from DC, he's a guy who's an amputee and who's addicted to painkillers, and that's not our approach or the history that we're giving....This is so ambitious, and we are covering so much time and space, it's incredible."
"I think with the Justice Society, we are the antithesis to the Legends," Richardson-Sellers told ComicBook.com during Comic Con. "We're a really tight group, we're so on it, we're so practical...and it has to be slick. We're the slick group: 1940s hardcore superheroes."
The JSA will team up against with the crew of the Waverider to take on the Legion of Doom -- a team composed of pre-existing Arrowverse villains Captain Cold, Malcolm Merlyn, the Reverse-Flash and Damien Darhk. It isn't clear exactly what their plan of attack is, but with power like that all centralized in one place, it's arguably not that surprising that when the Justice Society's Hourman showed up at the end of the show's first season, he did so in distress, and cautioning the team against making any moves until they heard him out.
DC's Legends of Tomorrow airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The series returns on October 13 on The CW.
