Final Fantasy XV Director Comments on Possible Nude Mods on PC

Final Fantasy XV is coming to PC. For most of us, that means that Square Enix's most ambitious RPG ever is going to be bigger, and look better, than ever before. Most of us are drooling over the prospect of playing Final Fantasy XV at 4K, 60fps with our monster machines. For a niche group of, er, more primitive players, the most exciting prospect will be the opportunity to mod the game. It didn't take long at all for possible nude mods to become the hot topic of conversation.

That conversation has reached the ears of Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata. This man worked long and hard on Final Fantasy XV, noting publicly that the process has taken years off of his life. PCGamesN caught up with Tabata at Gamescom and asked whether he was worried about the kinds of mods that might be introduced.

"Obviously there's some worry about 'we've made this great world and people might try to stuff all kind of strange things into it and mess it up,'" he said. "When we were getting together for discussion, all the people together in the project were airing out their worries, [nude mods] were something most people were really worried about.

"What's stronger in my mind is the fact that I don't want to limit people too much - this is part of the culture of gaming these days. These people - it's a thing they've bought, it's their game now. I don't think it's a good thing, but we're going to leave it to the moral sense of all the players out there. I basically want, as a principle, to give as much freedom and as little limitations on it as possible."

So if they're leaving it up to the moral common sense of the players, I think we all know what that means. Nude mods are on the way.
