Tom Hiddleston Says Thor: Ragnarok Changes Loki Forever

Fans were elated to see Loki return in the Thor: Ragnarok trailer, but is this the same Loki fans left off with in Thor: The Dark World?
Back then Tom Hiddleston's popular villain was ruling in Odin's stead, unbeknownst to anyone else though. Is this Loki different from versions past?
"Yes, but that's in his nature," Hiddleston told ComicBook.com's Brandon Davis on the set of Thor: Ragnarok. "I think he's, he's a mercurial spirit, and the minute you try to define him, he changes shape. He is the shape shifter in the pantheon, although events in Ragnarok try and inspire to change him forever, I think, but they change for everyone."
Hiddleston is teasing some epic stakes, but then again you expect nothing less when the villain controls death itself.
"The goddess of death shows up, and the stakes are high," says Hiddleston with a laugh, "for everybody, so Loki perhaps more than ever, is challenged to define himself in the face of that threat."
Part of Loki's charm is his slithery nature. You never really know what side he's on, but an adventure is much more fun when he's meddling in some way.
"So what I'm interested in really is how his attitudes have changed. While Thor was away with his buddies fighting a computer, I'll think you'll see there are all sorts of interesting things," Hiddleston told the audience at Wizard World Philadelphia. "I'm four years older and Chris is four years older and there will just be new things we find in it. The most exciting thing about him is that he is always a trickster. It is trying to find new ways for him to be mischievous, because I love doing that, and I hope you guys love him doing that."
This might be the last outing for Tom Hiddleston's Loki, but if it is he is certainly going to make it memorable.
