More actors have entered the arena for Marvel’s Luke Cage and Jessica Jones roles.
Actress Marin Ireland, from Masters of Sex and The Divide, is now also being considered for Jessica Jones. Meanwhile, Divergent actor Cleo Anthony is now Marvel’s third candidate for Luke Cage.
The updates come after yesterday’s report from Deadline, which said that Marvel Studios was eyeing four contestants for Jessica Jones, and two for Luke Cage. Yesterday’s lineup for Jones included Krysten Ritter, Alexandra Daddario, Teresa Palmer, and Jessica De Gouw. Luke Cage was between Mike Colter and Cleo Anthony.
Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are Marvel’s next television series in development for Netflix. Jessica Jones will premiere first, followed by Luke Cage. As reported yesterday, Cage will debut in the Jessica Jones series in a supporting role for six to seven episodes before headlining his own series. Both shows will follow Marvel’s first Netflix series, Daredevil. With actor Charlie Cox portraying the Man Without Fear, the series is set to release in early 2015.
