Earlier this afternoon, Harrison Ford had to crash land his single-engine plane at Penmar Golf Course, just west of Santa Monice airport. Initial reports claimed that the actor was in “critical condition,” but more recent reports claim that the actor is in “stable condition.”

“We can confirm that there was a plane crash and the male occupant was a 65-70 year-old man. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition,” Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Officer Nuria Vanegas informed the press
A mechanical failure was the cause of the crash. The Star Wars: The Force Awakens actor “was conscious and breathing following the accident.” He was helped by bystanders and then transported to a local hospital.
Carlos Lugo, 63, witnessed the accident as he was playing at the golf course. He believes from what he saw that Ford’s plane lost power and tried to turn around in an attempt to get back to the Santa Monica airport. “When he flew over us we knew it was too late to make it back to the airport,” Lugo said.
