When it comes to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, almost everything is a mystery to some degree. Looking at John Boyega's character Finn, what we know is fairly limited. We know he starts out as a stormtrooper for the First Order, but then joins the Resistance against them. We know that somehow he winds up wielding the same lightsaber that both Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker have before him.

And that's about it.

Well, don't be looking to the movie for all the answers about who Finn is and where he comes from, Boyega warned ComicBook.com and assembled press at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens global press day (hit around 1:45 in the video below for Boyega's answer).

"I didn't know much going in because of [fear of] spoilers and that kind of stuff," Boyega said of Finn's backstory. "I do remember having the sides that were loosely based on who Finn and Rey was. I remember during screen testing, I was like, to Daisy [Ridley], 'There's no way that our stories are so simple."

He then pointedly looked at Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and said, "And we still don't know," intimating that the film, the first in a trilogy, doesn't hold all the answers.

"I've still got some conspiracy theories as a fan, as to where Finn comes from. And I like that it's a mystery," the actor said. "I like that."

We do, too, John, but we hope some of the mysteries are solved on December 18, 2015.
