Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds has made X-Force a priority.

That’s what the actor told German outlet Filmstarts when questioned about the possibility of Deadpool appearing alongside other superheroes. Reynolds made clear that a crossover with the Avengers isn’t a real possibility, but said there’s plenty of mutant mythology to mine.
“In the future I think, if we’re doing a bunch more Deadpool movies, we’re going to really explore the X-Men a lot, and maybe X-Force,” Reynolds says. “X-Force is really my priority. I really want to get that in.”
Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld also created the character Cable, X-Force’s founder and original leader. The character has deep seeded ties to Deadpool, and the two worked together as a team for a while. That means there’s plenty of material to bring the mutant paramilitary squad into Deadpool’s neck of the woods.
In the comics, Deadpool didn’t join X-Force until years later, after the team had disbanded and was reformed by Wolverine as a mutant wetwork squad. The team featured Deadpool, Wolverine, Psylocke, Archangel, and Fantomex. Psylocke and Archangel both have big roles to play as Horsemen of Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse. Perhaps they could make their way over to X-Force afterwards, especially since Apocalypse is a major villain for Cable and X-Force. With Hugh Jackman hanging up his claws after the next Wolverine solo movie, it isn’t hard to imagine doing this version of X-Force on screen with Cable taking Wolverine’s place as leader.
Also worth noting is that Colossus is in Deadpool. Colossus became a member of X-Force when Cable reformed his version of the team in the Marvel NOW! era series Cable and X-Force. Fox is also working on a movie featuring the New Mutants, the teen mutant team that Cable shaped into the original X-Force.
Fox has been working on developing an X-Force movie. In December, a concept artist shared work he created for a scrapped version of the X-Force film. The art showed a lineup inspired by Cable’s original team: Cable, Domino, Warpath, Feral, and Cannonball.
