When Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows hits theaters this week, it’ll include a showdown between two Stephens: Stephen Amell, playing Casey Jones in the film, and Stephen Farrelly, playing the mutant Rhino Rocksteady, will face off in the film in a bombastic scene (Farrelly is of course joined by Gary Anthony Williams as Bebop) at the climax of the film. Well, Farrelly, who also goes by Sheamus as a WWE Superstar would love to take it off the big screen and bring it into the WWE ring.

“He did a stellar performance at Summerslam,” Farrelly said of Amell at a press conference for the film. “I’d love the opportunity to take him on in the ring! The first time I sat down and met Stephen on set, he surprised me being a huge WWE fan, and so knowledgeable about it for all his life. I talked a bit about what I do, I was like, ‘Oh you know, come off the top rope, this and that,’ then he shows me this video of him doing Parkour, jumping off walls, doing flips, coming down, another flip, jump out to another wall… I was like, oh, I’ll stop talking about myself now. I was pretty impressed.”
The impressiveness goes both ways, though Amell, who also stars on The CW’s Arrow and did most of his own stunts for TMNT 2 acknowledges a bit more intimidation on his side.
“I had to be headbutted by Stephen [Farrelly] in the movie, and of all the stunts I did in the movie, including a car whipping by me at 100 miles per hour, that was the most frightening thing by far,” Amell said with a smile. “I had the good fortune to live a dream for the past year, have a WWE match, get involved, and see what this guy goes through on a daily basis, and he’s underselling his schedule and how crazy it is. Maybe one of these days. The WWE, things can change on a dime.”
He joked that when Farrelly “tapped me on the shoulder, it was incredibly painful.”
Amell wrestled at WWE’s Summerslam event after a rivalry was established with Superstar Stardust (aka Cody Rhodes, who recently left the WWE) both at WWE events and on social media. The longtime WWE fan even dove off the top rope of a turnbuckle in a major stunt moment.
When Farrelly and Amell were done talking about the possibility of an in-ring match-up, their costar Gary Anthony Williams chimed in, laughing about the slightly ridiculous nature of their conversation.
“I love that when you meet someone, you’re like, ‘I really like this dude, I’d like to fight him. He seems like a good dude… let’s fight!’” Williams said, laughing al the while.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is in theaters June 3, 2016.
