Michael Cudlitz Discusses The Future of The Walking Dead

Last seen on his knees at the mercy of Negan, The Walking Dead's Abraham has a lot to lose right now. He only recently left his girlfriend behind in favor of a new lady friend and, on top of that, discovered a will to live while staring death in the face at the Hilltop.

Of course, happy endings rarely come along in the apocalyptic world we've come to know. So, if Abraham is to survive Negan's hellish swing of the bat, it won't come without great loss.

"It's The Walking Dead, we lose people," says Abraham actor Michael Cudlitz. "I'm eager to see how the loss changes the group. And there are other groups we still haven't met yet."

Cudlitz's vague answer may spark speculation that it is his Abraham who bows out to start the season.

The actor did, however, go in depth on his perspective of The Walking Dead's season six finale. "The Season Finale is great because, from the minute it starts, you know it's not going to end well for so many reasons," Cudlitz says. "There is the claustrophobic element of the RV and the ticking time bomb of Maggie getting sicker and sicker, forcing us deeper and deeper into this trap. It starts closing in on us roadblock after roadblock. Everything about this is implying the size of the force that we are dealing with is way larger than what we have and what we have ever encountered. We are not dealing with people who don't know what they are doing."

"It's terrifying to us," Cudlitz concludes, as he should. Negan's Saviors are no joke and we'll see how the encounters between the Saviors and Alexandria unfold starting when The Walking Dead returns for its seventh season on October 23 at 9 PM ET on AMC.
