These all come from a single shot of the Gotham City skyline that precedes a scene involving Deadshot and his daughter. As one eagle-eyed Reddit user spotted, the skyline includes several Gotham City landmarks.

The building most relevant to Suicide Squad would be the Ace Chemicals plant. According to the most commonly accepted Joker origin story, the one cemented in Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s Batman: The Killing Joke graphic novel in 1988, Ace Chemicals was the site where the Red Hood fought Batman and fell, or leaped, into a vat of chemicals. He survived the fall and emerged with clown-like skin as the Joker.

This moment is referenced in Suicide Squad when, during the flashback to Harley Quinn’s history with the Joker, she is taken to Ace Chemicals. There, the Joker tells Harley that the place changed who he is after an encounter with Batman. He then drops Harley into a vat of chemicals for her own transformation and dives in after her so they can swim together.

Other barely noticeable landmarks are the Gotham Chronicle building, the headquarters of the Gotham City newspaper that has been used in viral marketing for Fox’s Gotham television prequel to Batman. There’s also the Gotham Telegraph building.
