It’s no secret that Kevin Smith knows how to rock a hockey jersey. The geek icon and filmmaker is known for his causal wardrobe, and fans mirrors Smith’s distinct style by donning jorts and oversized jerseys when cosplay opportunities come up. Recently, Smith honored his usual dress on Facebook by posting a photo of his newest jersey, and fans can see it was made to honor the director’s work on The CW‘s Supergirl.

“My new jersey commemorating my stint on @supergirlcw! Designed by me and drawn by the ever-amazing @jeffquigley! Since people are always asking where they can get one of my jerseys, all the crests and sweaters I wear are gonna be made available for purchase in the new year!”

Looking at the jersey, it is easy to spot the connection between Smith and the Supergirl logo. The heroine’s ‘S-Shield’ is featured prominently on the jersey, and a caricatured version of Smith can be seen running in front of the logo with a can of spray paint. The figure has used the Supergirl logo as the first letter of his last name and sloppily spray-painted the rest of surname in good fun.

Clearly, Smith has had a wonderful time working on the superhero series this year. Not long ago, Melissa Benoist gushed about Smith’s work on Supergirl and admitted she was a long-time fan.

“I cannot say enough amazing things about Kevin Smith,” Supergirl star Melissa Benoist said during a recent set visit. “I’ve been a fan for ages and so I was really anticipating working with him and so excited about it — and he just exceeded all of my expectations. He’s so supportive and encouraging. We work crazy long hours, and the energy he brings is only positive….I don’t know how he keeps that up.”

Smith has not spared too many details about his upcoming Supergirl episode, but he has said it is a very ambitious project. During an interview, the director had this to say about the story: “The Supergirl episode, it’s very ambitious. It’s different from a lot of Supergirl episodes. We take a journey. It’s big, it’s a big episode. It turned out phenomenally. I was just working on the cut this morning, the first cut. The Flash is done, and it airs next week. Supergirl I got the first cut of, and it was 12 minutes long. So I went through an easy first-pass…and am down five minutes, so there’s seven minutes left to cut out. It’s going to be tough because all the scenes are really good.”

Supergirl is not the only project which Kevin Smith has tackled lately. The director also helmed an episode of The Flash this season, and its synopsis can be read below:

“KEVIN SMITH DIRECTS; KILLER FROST EMERGES โ€” Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) uses her powers to save Barry (Grant Gustin) but as her mother predicted, the effort unleashes her inner Killer Frost. Killer Frost goes on a rampage looking for Dr. Alchemy, kidnapping Julian (Tom Felton) and battling both The Flash and Vibe (Carlos Valdes). Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) have a heart to heart.”
