Star Wars: Episode VIII is slated to be realeased around this time next year, but there are almost zero details about the project floating around the Internet. We know that Rey and Luke will be together, and that the popular characters from The Force Awakens will all return. Other than that, Disney has done a good job about keeping everything under wraps.

This week, however, makingstarwars.net has released some new information regarding the film that teases the introduction of a new set of creatures.

WARNING: Potential Spoilers For Star Wars: Episode VIII Ahead!

When Rey finds Luke at the end of The Force Awakens, he is living on a planet called Ahch-To. It seems to the audience that he has been living in solitude all these years, but this new rumor states that this isn’t the case.

According to the site, a band of small creatures is accompanying Luke on his island. They are said to be based on the puffin birds that inhabit the island where the scene is filmed, but they’ve been given a Star Wars twist.

Making Star Wars has this to say about the creatures:

“Rumor has it the creatures have razor sharp teeth and are a mixture of the terrifying and the adorable. They’re sort of like a bird mixed with a Gremlin. Someone once said it was like the Star Wars version of a Furby, but the look and feel is so Star Wars they loved it. Basically combine a puffin, a Furby, and Star Wars it up and you have yourself an idea of what this creature is.They’re tinyโ€“maybe 15 inches tall or so. I was apprehensive when I first heard “Furby,” but no one speaking of the design has anything bad to say about it. In fact, those that have seen the tiny puppets on set are overjoyed by their presence in the film. “

This description is very reminiscent of the Ewoks from Return Of The Jedi, which were, at their hearts, teddy bears with a twist.
