The DC Cinematic Universe had somewhat of a rough start, but the studio has made corrective efforts to get things back in the positive. Despite the criticisms of both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, both have been quite successful at the box office. Unfortunately, they weren’t as successful as they had the potential to be.
Warner Bros. producer Charles Roven recently spoke to THR about several aspects of the Cinematic Universe, including the substantial change in tone that they’ve shifted to for the upcoming Justice League.

“We knew we were making a very serious, compelling, driving film with Batman v. Superman. Now the bell has been rung and the whole tone of the movie is lighter.”
Fans already saw that plan in action when the studio showed the first Justice League footage at Comic-Con. The trailer alone had more levity in it than the entirety of BvS, at least, it seemed that way. Time will tell if this course correction will bring the DC Film universe more positive critiques in the future.
In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroesโBatman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flashโit may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder, from a screenplay by Chris Terrio, and features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Ciarรกn Hinds, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons and Jesse Eisenberg.
