However, members of the Fisher/Reynolds family have been speaking out, letting fans and well-wishers know what the outpouring of love and support has meant – and the latest is Todd Fisher, Carrie’s brother and Debbie’s son, who was a focal point for information and updates during both ladies’ respective health emergencies.

Talking about how his mother passed, Todd Fisher took a larger spiritual view of things, stating during a 20/20 special, “From the family’s perspective, this is Debbie’s destiny.”

He went on to describe how his mother wanted to follow her late daughter, stating, “She said that she really wanted to be with Carrie. And within 15 minutes from that conversation, she faded out. And within 30 minutes, she technically was gone.”

When asked if he felt his mother had let go of the will to live, accepting death, Fisher answered, “if anybody, had somehow a way to do that, and I watched it happen in front of my face. I was on her bed with her, and I watched her leave and go to Carrie.”

For many fans, the loving bond between mother and daughter has added a touch of poetic beauty to an otherwise tragic situation.
