The box office in 2016 broke records despite there being fewer truly successful blockbusters.

Disney had three films break $1 billion, with a fourth likely to cross the mark soon.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. had some disappointing successes and the overall number of movies that made $100 million or more was down.

So who were the real winners at the box office in 2016? We’ve decided to take a look and made a list of the 20 highest-grossing films of the year.
