Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who will play Black Adam in two Shazam-related films in the DC Cinematic Universe, took to social media to congratulate the newest addition to the Aquaman film.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen was announced to be playing Black Manta in the upcoming Aquaman film, directed by James Wan and starring Jason Momoa in the title role.

Abdul-Mateen is another impressive addition in an already stellar cast, joining Amber Heard and Patrick Wilson. There are also rumblings of Nicole Kidman signing on for a role, returning to the DC film universe after 1995’s Batman Forever.

Black Manta is Aquaman’s fiercest rival, and Black Adam is one of the most revered in DC’s pantheon of villains. The two recently teamed together in the DC New 52 comic series Forever Evil.

The Rock has been one of the biggest social media champions for the DC Cinematic Universe and has had some creative input, choosing between the roles of Captain Marvel (or Shazam) and Black Adam.

Perhaps we could see Black Manta share the screen with Black Adam in the future.
