There’s good buzz, and then there’s almost impossibly great buzz, and it sounds like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is in the latter category. In an extremely rare case, Guardians 2 scored a perfect 100 out of 100 at the first test screenings for the film. That means everyone that saw it at the screening gave it a perfect score, according to a report by THR.

That perfect score is higher than their previous top scoring film, The Avengers (though Iron Man 3 also scored high in the 90s). Marvel Studios doesn’t recruit random fans from the LA area, instead brining in “friends and families” for their screenings, which no doubt colors things slightly (and keeps their notoriously tight secrets in place), but the fact they haven’t had a 100 before certainly says something.

The first Guardians of the Galaxy was a surprise hit for Disney and Marvel Studios; using a group of characters that virtually no one outside of die-hard comic book fans knew, on an intergalactic adventure far from Earth and the Avengers characters that had gained the Marvel Cinematic Universe popularity (and billions). Its creativity and sense of adventure was well received by fans, to the tune of over $770 million worldwide on a property no one had ever heard of.

With James Gunn returning as the writer and director, and the entire principal cast back (and the MCU even more popular than ever before), the anticipation for the sequel is naturally high.
