Game of Thrones has a passionate fanbase, that’s for sure; though some would argue that those passions burn a little too hot. Case in point: John Wick: Chapter 2 star Ian McShane, who made a guest appearance in a season 6 episode of GoT.

Ian McShane Tells Game Thrones Fans Get fucking Life

“Can you believe it? ‘Oh, you’re giving it away!’ … what am I giving away? A character beloved by everybody returns. Get a fโ€”ing life. The show is huge but some fans seem to identify with it [too closely]. You want to say, ‘Have you thought about your lifestyle? Maybe you should get out a little more.’”

In the era where geek culture is such a profitable vertical of the entertainment industry, it’s rare to see an actor bare his real feelings toward that culture. It’s hard to believe that anyone could stand the intense scrutinizing and judgement that comes from stepping into any iconic geek culture franchise – so it’s equally hard to believe all the DC, Marvel, X-Men, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, etc. actors, when they paint smiles of perpetual patience on their faces when dealing with the fans.

You gotta figure more actors feel the way Ian McShane does – they just don’t have the cojones to say it out loud.
