Fans eager to see The Defenders in full costume might have to settle for Daredevil‘s uniform. Luke Cage‘s origin paid homage to his original design, while Jessica Jones is too cranky to ever put the Jewel outfit back on.

And Iron Fist? Well, we saw the trailer that seemed to go the Cage route and showed Danny Rand wearing green-and-yellow robes.
But that might be it as far as an official costume goes for the Immortal Weapon.
Speaking in the latest issue of SFX Magazine, showrunner Scott Buck nixed the idea of seeing an Iron Fist costume during the first season.

“There was no good reason we could imagine to put Danny Rand in a costume,” Buck told the outlet. “Because Danny Rand is still discovering who he is as a hero and where he is going to be, so he’s not yet ready to put on a mask or a costume.”
Buck added, “he is someone who is rather well known as a billionaire, so he can’t necessarily go out in public and do the things he does without being recognized. It does become an issue for the character.”
So no body suit, no sash, no mask, and especially no crazy collars.
The character might get there eventually as Danny Rand becomes the superhero known as Iron Fist. But please leave the ridiculous collar in the comicsโthere’s no way that would ever work on television.
