When Fantastic Four bombed in 2015, co-creator Stan Lee pointed out that it was one of the few Marvel films that he didn’t cameo in as a possible reason. He’s probably hoping that Logan isn’t an indication of that trend shifting in the other direction, as the film is ploughing through to box office success in its opening weekend.

But the Marvel godfather did have a minor appearance in the Deadpool short that appeared before the film, as you can see now online.

Unfortunately, he was cut from the theatrical version, making Logan another one of the few Marvel movies that doesn’t feature Lee at all.

And yet the Man doesn’t seem too upset by this turn of events, as he tweeted out a thank you to Ryan Reynolds for including him in the extended version that appeared online shortly after the film’s release.

UP NEXT: Logan Leads International Box Office

Because if anyone can save Stan Lee from obscurity, it’s the Merc with the Mouth.

However, we’d be remiss if we didn’t point out the woes that generally befall films under the Marvel banner that don’t include Lee in a cameo capacity.

Maybe Logan’s box office numbers will completely tank in its second week? Ha, don’t bet on it, bub.

Logan is currently the #1 Ranked Film by ComicBook.com’s readers and is sitting pretty with an 88.50 Composite Score based on reviews.

Expect that box office haul to continue next week when it has a good chance of beating the opening of Kong: Skull Islandโ€”a movie in which Stan Lee definitely does not have a cameo.
