Not a lot is known at this point about Ant-Man and The Wasp, the forthcoming sequel film by Marvel Studios. While the film is expected to begin production in June of this year, only three members of the original cast – Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lily, and Michael Douglas – are currently officially signed on to appear.

But now, another one of Ant-Man‘s original stars has now confirmed that he will be a part of the highly-anticipated sequel.

Michael Pena, who became a fan favorite in Ant-Man as Scott Lang’s friend and roommate, Luis, will now reportedly play a part in the sequel. When speaking with Collider recently to promote his newest film, CHiPS, Pena mentioned his involvement with the film while discussing his upcoming schedule.

“So, I’m doing Extinction next, that’s a Universal movie. And then I’m doing Ant-Man, Part 2.”

This is sure to be welcome news to Marvel fans, especially after a recent quote from Pena made it unclear whether or not he would return. Pena explained that he “hadn’t gotten the call” just yet, despite signing a multi-picture deal to appear in the franchise. And now, it appears that he did, in fact, get the call.

With Pena’s comedic contributions to the first Ant-Man film becoming a highlight with moviegoers, it’s a no-brainer that he would be involved with the sequel. But with that in mind, it’s currently unclear whether or not the other members of Luis’ group, Tip ‘T.I.‘ Harris and David Dastmalchian, will appear in the film or not. Dastmalchian recently earned another gig on another high-profile superhero property, as he is set to play the villainous Abra Kadabra on CW’s The Flash.
