But despite winning an Academy Award, it was still met with mixed reviews from fans and critics alike. Fans were even torn on Jared Leto‘s portrayal of the Joker, despite the character not being featured in the movie in a major role.

Suicide Squad’s cinematographer recently posted a new image to his personal Instagram account featuring Leto’s version of the Clown Prince of Crime.

Director of Photography Roman Vasyanov posted the photo from deleted scenes with the Joker in his tuxedo. The sequence was entirely cut from the finished film despite featuring prominently in the trailers of the movie. It shows Joker with debris on the side of his face, possibly taking place after his failed attempt to rescue Harley Quinn at the movie’s midpoint.

Vasyanov has posted multiple pictures from Suicide Squad on his Instagram page. They’re all wonderful, beautifully composed and framed, ranging from black and white to color.

It just makes us wish we got to see the actual scene from the film. Unfortunately, even the extended cut was absent of these shots.

Suicide Squad 2 is rumored to go into production sometime in 2018. No director has been announced.
